Lately I've been thinking a lot about grandpa, and since it's been almost 2 years since he passed away, I thought I would feel differently, but I still really miss him. I keep seeing or hearing about things that would interest him and still think that when I go over there he will be there sitting in the chair complaining about being cold, wearing his little mocassins.
It's funny how many things remind you of someone who is gone. Everytime I look at the stars I think of him, and it also reminds me of the time he called me and told me to come over and look at the bats that lived in the roof, lol. There are so many little things that just make me smile.
But.. I think what is really getting to me is that he won't be there when I graduate, but in a way I'm sure he will be there. There are so many things that I wish he could be here for, and he was there for so much for me. He always came to my Christmas band concerts, even when I was in 6th grade and he had to listen to a horrible rendition of Jingle Bells.. lol..
I just feel like he shouldn't be forgotten, and I want to keep the memories of him in my mind so I don't forget them, although I never will. This is my favorite picture of him, from the Childrens Museum. Feel free to add your memories if you would like.

Wash your hands! I miss Grandpa...:(
LOL @ Liz! Jerry was giving Cord a hard time the other night because he was "concerned" about a lot of things that were hurting on his body: his knees, his back, and a bruise on his arm that didn't "look right." I told Jerry to leave Cord alone, because he had inherited his "concern" from my side of the family, and he couldn't help it.
There are SO many things I miss. But maybe I'll just share this, instead. One morning at about 3 a.m., I woke up when I heard a voice say, "Laura! You really should be up!" Since I was awake anyway, I went to the living room and sat on the couch. I just happened to look out the window, and saw a falling star. It wasn't until I heard on the radio later that there had been a meteor shower that I realized who had "called" me in the middle of the night.
That is so cool!! I agree with the concerns, I have a lot of those too ;) Thanks!! :D
i was driving home from greencastle (walmart, YAY!) tuesday night and i heard brad & dolly's 'when i get where i'm going' and when it got to the part where he talks about his grandpa i just smiled and started crying!
