i told you i would get you back

Sing it with me.

The hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung, for a thousand years!
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears
My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds
that rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
from a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls overstones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I've heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I'll sing once more

"Eww I think I stepped on a frozen turd"- Liz

Even though I know she hates the above pictures.. she deserves it ;) I also love singing T.Swift with you in the car and forcing you to go to a Jessica Simpson concert. Thank you for always being there for me when I'm being ridiculous and for always telling me what you think no matter how much I don't want to hear it.

I also love how we realized that we can't talk on messenger about serious things because we ALWAYS end up getting mad at each other because of how sarcastic we are to each other. Just think of all the memories we've had. We're so best friends, even when I pushed you down the stairs in your walker or sprayed Windex on your face because you were dirty ;) Thank goodness someone was watching me/us when we were little, ha.
I ♥ my sister!

P.S. I just realized that I need to proof read my blog 27 times before I post since I obviously can't type or spell things correctly, ugh. This is the third try. I think I'm done now.

Also, I had to go look up this song because it was stuck in my head. Now you won't have to ;) Now I want to watch Sound of Music :(

a very small update on my life.

I haven't blogged about anything interesting for awhile. Don't get your hopes up.. this might not be very interesting either ;)

I just thought I would update you all on my life (mostly because I want to blog and have nothing better to talk about). I can't even really tell you about the life of a farm girl because I haven't really been working on the weekends, which is very strange. I kind of miss working. My cousin has been working for my dad so me and Liz have been out of work for the past few weekend... Anyway..

I just got out of my business 401 class where I found out that our group is responsible for creating a business plan for a real company. If you remember way back to last semester, I also had to do a business plan for my own business, and I am so NOT looking forward to doing another one, although this time I will have the help of 10 other people. Which is awesome! Maybe I won't want to beat my head against the wall or tear my hair out this time. (I'm not even kidding when I say that.. I thought of it many times.) I'm also the only one who has ever done a business plan so hopefully they won't be coming to me for all the answers because I really don't have any. I did learn a few things that could be helpful, but again, I am just not looking forward to it. I guess I just have to keep telling myself that I am helping out a business that does a lot for their community and will help them become more successful.

I also learned today that my job as a note-taker has ended before it even really started. I got an e-mail saying that they made a mistake and hired someone else to take notes. Oh well. It was only $6.55 an hour for 2.7 hours a week lol.. but it would have been nice to be getting some money since I don't have a job anymore. I haven't missed it once. The only thing I have missed is the money because I seem to be running out of it very quickly.

I also received an e-mail from a "Mrs. Maria Foreman" telling me that she was going to give me $500 million dollars or maybe just $5 million from her husbands trust. Yeah right, I could never BE that lucky. I hope no one falls for that.

Anyway.. that's about all I wanted to vent/blog about.. but I thought I would end this with posting a pic from last weekend just as the snow started to fall. The first is the original picture, then I decided to edit them on Picnik (it's a stress relieving activity for me) ;) If you look closely at the last one you can see the snow falling.

sixth picture in the sixth file post

Working Mom tagged me so I get to do this fun little activity :)

THE RULES

.1. go to your documents/pictures

2. go to your 6th file.

3. go to your 6th picture.

4. blog about it.

5. tag 6 people (or in my case 3) to do the same.

6. smile

:) This was in 2006 according to the file name. (ignore the date.. I was always in a hurry and never set it) Grandpa volunteered at the Children's Museum and always got invited for a Christmas thing. This is my little brother (he looks so little and cute) and my grandpa on some bike thingy there. I went with him a few years in a row. It was always fun. I think my favorite exhibit was the year they had Norman Rockwell. It's just such a neat place and I'll always think of him when I go/hear/think about the Children's Museum.

With that being said... I am tagging...

1. Liz
2. Aunt Laura
3. Lacy

and anyone else who wants to since I don't have too many blogger friends.

day 2 and random pictures

Of my diet that is. And so far it's going pretty well. I didn't realize how much I eat that I shouldn't. I feel completely satisfied. I'm sure it will get more difficult when I go back home because that seems to be the hardest place for me to keep track of everything. My roomie/cousin Chelsie is doing Weight Watchers with me which is really helpful. It always helps me to have someone doing it with me. I don't know why but it does.

I did Zumba yesterday. It was fun and challenging. We (my roomies and I) are planning on going every Monday. Except of course next week because the university is closed for MLK day. So we will have to wait until the week after. When I'm not doing Zumba I'm going to try to do the DVD that I have. It has 4 or 5 10 minute pilates workouts that work different parts of your body so I am planning to do 30 minutes on the eliptical and then come back and do one a different 10 minunte workout everyday. Hopefully I can keep up with it. It has to be better than doing nothing right?

Anyway. I am happy that I am finally in the right mindset to do this. I am excited about it and I'm ready to do what it takes for the first time in my life. I don't know why this seems to be so hard for me. I have no problem motivating myself in other parts of my life. It's just that this has been a struggle for my entire life and it's a difficult thing to do but I know I can do it.

Since I promised more pictures.. here they are! I revised these on Picnik just for fun.. but I think they turned out pretty cool. The last one is my favorite.

sunset obsession

there are no words.

Actually there are. I just didn't want to ruin the pictures with an explanation of something that has no explanation, I am just excited about finally being able to share some pictures I've taken over break with my new camera! It's a Kodak EasyShare: 12x zoom and is 7.1 megapixels. It seems to take pretty good pictures and I think I got a pretty good deal on it. I was just looking at the reviews on Amazon and it says that it's a $300 camera. I got it for $110!

As I was going through my pictures I noticed my obsession. I have a million pictures of the pond with the sunset, or the sunset in general on my camera. I just can't help it. I think it is so beautiful. These are my favorites of the sunset.

The last one isn't really one of my favorites but I thought it was kind of cool because you can see the moon and one of the planets. I can't remember which one. It reminded me of Grandpa :)
Enjoy :)

I have MANY more pictures to share. Keep checking back to see them :) I'm also thinking about starting a Flickr account so that you can see all of them if you wish. Let me know your opinion on that.

seriously?

I know I have better things to do than blog but I couldn't help myself on this one. I was at work last night, surfing the web as usual, when I ran across this headline: Sought: Wal-Mart shoppers who trampled NY worker

Is it really worth someone dying to get a good deal on Black Friday? I do NOT think so. It even says in the article that people were very upset that they had to leave because someone died. SERIOUSLY people, you are forgetting the true meaning of Christmas! I was so shocked by this and upset. I just don't know why people are the way they are anymore..

Anyway.. check out the article if you want.

I also wanted to share at least one of the pictures from Thanksgiving at my grandmas, we took many and some of them were way too embarassing, but here is one of the good ones :) It's good of me anyway lol.. not sure what my cousin is doing but.. yeah.

a real woman

A real woman has shit on her boots, worn spots on her jeans, passion in her heart, and a brain in her head. We don't have to be pretty all the time, because real men know better than to think that the amount of makeup we have on is an indication of whether or not we are worth speaking to. A real woman doesn't need a man to justify who she is, or go to church on Sunday just to talk with God. A real woman knows that actions speak louder than words, and that no amount of frills and glitter can replace talent when it comes down to the ride. A real woman knows that a good heart is more important in a man than a full bank account, and that being honest is more important than always being right.

Note: I did not write this, I just thought it was good :)

capture award

My wonderful cousin Marchelle gave me this award for my fall photography. Thanks! I'm going to pass it on to my wonderful Aunt who also has some awesome photography skills (she took my senior pics and actually got some good ones of me lol.. I now know why I am not a model.. I was just too awkward lol). Anyway, Check out both of their pages... Hopefully I will get a chance to take some more pictures this weekend. We'll see what happens.... it's going to be a busy weekend! ;)

i ♥ fall

it's just... amazing.

NOTE: I did some photoshopping.. (obviously) so don't think that the leaves are this vibrant, although some of the pictures i just "auto-fixed" on picnik (it's a free Facebook thing) Enjoy!

P.S. I so NEED a new camera. Mine is... well.. OLD. I was thinking about getting/asking for one for Christmas, preferrably under $150. I know that doesn't leave me many options but if you have any suggestions let me know!
